He grew up in Arlington, Virginia, but now calls Tempe, Arizona home. David graduated from Radford University, Radford, VA in 1988 with a Bachelor's Degree in Geology. Subsequently, he attended Arizona State University and obtained his Master's Degree in 1994 in Planetary Geology, where he studied komatiitic lavas as an analog to Martian lavas. Currently, David is between assignments and is available for hire. David's professional interests include networking computers, internet applications, science and technology advocacy, and Mars. David is responsible for the Educational Outreach aspect of the expedition and will be serving as the webmaster, updating the website directly from Devon Island for you. David will also be performing as Sherpa, SatPhone Operator and Medic. For fun David likes to go hard-core mountain biking, rock climbing (with ropes and stuff), and fly sailplanes.
