Susan Young Lee Function: Rover Hardware Lead Affiliation: NASA Ames Research Center Susan Young Lee is the Lead Hardware Engineer for the Intelligent Robotics Group (IRG) at NASA Ames Research Center. She began working at Ames in 2002 shortly after receiving her Bachelors and Masters in Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronics from Stanford University. Since being at Ames, Susan has been involved in several robotic field tests. In 2005 she was part of the K9 field test team testing in a Watsonville, CA quarry. In 2006 she directed the IRG field robotics team during a Coordinated Field Demo in Meteor Crater, Arizona that involved four different types of robots working with astronauts in a simulated Lunar scenario. Susan has also co-authored several papers for international robotics conferences including AIAA Space, ISAIRIS and ICRA.
