Christine Pires Function: System Support Specialist Affiliation: Simon Fraser University Christine is the Simon Fraser University ExSOC Planetary System Support Specialist, and acts as the Deputy Chief Engineer, in Dr. Steve Braham's team. She works to support all computing and communication systems at HMPRS, ranging from standard and safety-oriented HMPRS systems, through to support of Exploration Systems and other experiments. Now in her third year of core-team HMP support, she is one of the most experienced "Big E" exploration support specialists. She is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, a certified scuba diver, is working on her Private Pilot's License, and has experience ranging from computing systems to heavy construction. At SFU ExSOC, her job is to work with Dr. Braham on defining how analogues can be used to further human and robotic exploration of the Solar System, and beyond, and to support Canadians in using such analogues.
