This afternoon, Sekou Crawford (Stanford University/NASA Ames, Lead Test Engineer for Astrobionics) [pictured here] and JD Polk, MD (NASA JSC, Flight Surgeon, Lead for Health Care Systems) held an online session with multiple NASA centers for the Autonomous Medical Care Initiative.
Vicky Glass (HMP Paramedic/firefighter, Fulton County Fire Dept) [pictured right] has a new set of electrodes attached to her chest and abdomen, and a new infrared sensor taped onto her index finger. The sensors are all patched into a CPOD (a battery-powered monitoring unit).
Once the online session began, Vicky's vital signs were able to be seen graphically in almost real time at each location. This is the first time this has been done with the Lifeguard System, and it was very successful.
JD Polk, MD (NASA JSC) [pictured here] and Sekou Crawford (NASA Ames) communicated with the participants via a voice link.
