Field Update July 16, 2004 - More People Arrive, Work Continues While the weather has been bad except for very brief periods of time, work continues and new people continue to arrive. By tomorrow we should have at least 14 people either on Devon Island or in Resolute waiting to head to base camp. Primary activities at this time include upgrading our base camp facilities and continuing research and development in the Arthur Clarke Mars Greenhouse. Upcoming activity areas include Geology and Geophysics research, a Robotics and Automation experiment, and continued Human Exploration activities. To give you an idea of what personnel need to bring to the arctic, have a look at our HMP Personal Equipment List (121 KB PDF). |
