Mars on Earth 2004

Field Update

July 26, 2004 - Research Activities in Full Swing

We are now almost at full capacity for this year as the heart of our research season begins. New in camp a couple of days ago is a team of 6 led by Dr. Brian Glass who is the principal investigator of the Drilling Automation for Mars Exploration (DAME) Project. Dr. Glass is from NASA Ames and is working in cooperation with researchers from NASA Johnson Space Center and Honeybee Robotics. We'll have more on their activity tomorrow from Elaine Walker as we start posting her personal journals. Elaine is working on the HMP's Education and Public efforts this year. She will also tell us about the Autonomous Medical Care Initiative project.

A new photo report is now available with recent pictures.

To the left of Oz is Dr. Jeff Jones a NASA Flight Surgeon and to his right is Limnologist Dr. Darlene Lim.
