The MARS-1 Humvee Rover trials are expected to begin in earnest shortly as more participants arrive today who will be using the
roving field lab. The rover has already had a series of adventures on Devon Island which Pascal Lee will relate fully in the next week.
Expected to arrive today are Chief Biologist Charles Cockell from the British Antarctic Survey/SETI Institute,
Greenhouse Engineer Matt Bamsey from the Canadian Space Agency,
and from NASA Ames Research Center, Larry Young, Ray Demblewski, Corey Ippolitto, and Greg Pisanich who will be testing a Mars
aircraft. Also from NASA Ames is William Clancey who will be working on the MARS-1 Humvee Rover trials.
Flight Surgeon Jeffrey Jones from NASA Johnson Space Center has been delayed and will not arrive until July 23.
