NASA Haughton-Mars Project
Plant growth trays and associated equipment are imaged by MarsCam 4 a webcam which will operate autonomously after everyone has left base camp for the year.

August 4, 2003

The last of the HMP participants safely left base camp on Saturday morning. The base camp is now closed until at least next spring. However science data collection is ongoing as the Arthur Clarke Mars Greenhouse is now running autonomously. Data is being sent every two hours to Simon Fraser University's PolyLab in Vancouver, BC. Various sensors deployed in and around the greenhouse are sending data back to be analyzed by various scientists in Canada and the U.S. As well, a webcam will at times be sending back daily images of conditions within the greenhouse and monitor plant growth when commands are sent in the spring to beging growth.

An overview of our exciting field campaign will posted in the coming weeks along with more reports and images.
