Rick Husband Memorial - Husband Hill - Space Shuttle Columbia Inukshuk Memorials

The Husband Hill Inukshuk Memorial was named after astronaut Rick Husband. It was established in July, 2003, at the edge of a rocky hill overlooking Tent City at the NASA HMP Base Camp. The inukshuk seems to be protecting the projectÕs arctic explorers during their sleep. The Husband Hill Inukshuk, while the smallest of the Columbia Inukshuks, is the closest to the HMP base and is often visited. A beautiful view of camp and surrounding terrain is afforded from this inukshuk site.

The Husband Inukshuk was erected by Joe Amarualik (Resolute Bay) and Pascal Lee (NASA HMP PI).

Location: Devon Island 75° 25.9 N, 89° 52.0 W
